Kenrokuen
One of the three most beautiful gardens in Japan
In addition to Kairakuen in Mito and Korakuen in Okayama, Kenrokuen ranks as one of Japanese best gardens. The garden was started to build in 1676 when Maeda Tsunanori was the 5th lord of Kaga domain, and it took about 170 years to be finished.

Kanazawa Castle
A symbol of the castle town of Kanazawa
Maeda Toshiie, the first feudal lord of Kaga, started to rebuild the castle in 1583. It had been the Maeda family's castle since then where its successive lords resided for fourteen generations until 1869.

Higashi Chaya District
Historical chaya houses dstrict with old "Geisha" houses and restaurants
Higashi Chaya District is the largest one among the three Chaya dstricts in Kanazawa. "Chaya" means an exclusive restaurant entertaining its guests with Japanese traditional songs and dances performed by "Geiko" and "Maiko".

Kanazawa Hyakumangoku Festival, held from June 5 to 7 in 2009, is a great city festival highlighting the commemoration of the entry of the lord, Toshiie Maeda, into Kanazawa Catsle in 1583.
